5 of the Best Toyota Engines Throughout History

Technological advancements have given us many great devices, including the engine in its many forms. The engine’s history stretches back over a century, and many companies have made various models that improve upon previous ones. Toyota Motor Corporation has made beautiful cars for the world to drive for many years. What makes these vehicles so wonderful is the impressive engine that has seen numerous versions throughout the brand’s history. There we have prepared for you 5 of the Best Toyota Engines Throughout History.

2JE-GTE-Inline-Six

This engine was only available in Toyota Supra models from 1993 to 1998, but when it was in use, it made the Supra quite famous. This engine’s design features a straight-six style with an oil-cooled system. The twin-turbo power allows for more speed on the road, and the cat’s iron block design synergizes with the heat that comes from the energy produced, allowing the vehicle to drive longer without overheating.

4U-GSE/FA20 Flat-Four

This engine has the shape and design of the unique boxer engine, with a flat rectangular frame and pistons laying horizontally on either side. The machine has a Subaru design but originally was used in the Toyota 86 and the Scion FR-S. In terms of performance, this engine has an aluminum block and cylinder heads that withstand heat and make the vehicle lighter, allowing it to run faster.

7M-GTE Inline-Six

Toyota made a type of engine called the Toyota M engine that sat sideways inside the car’s hood and had a straight-six design. The M engine was manufactured from the 1960s to the 1990s.

Although these designs didn’t last as long in Toyota’s history as other significant engines, they still performed well. The straight-six offered great power, and although the cast iron material was heavy, it still made an excellent engine in terms of heat resistance.

4A-GE Inline-Four

This model has an exciting mixture of materials, making it stand out in Toyota’s engine history. The engine had a cast-iron block but used aluminum cylinders in a four-straight design. Using these materials together made for a durable engine block that could handle a lot of heat and featured fast-moving cylinders.

R36V V-8

The engine family of the R36V has powerful turbocharged engines. This engine is a V8, which lent to its excellent performance, especially when it came to its twin-turbo power. This model will make a great piece for Toyota engine swapping, provided you have the right parts for the replacement. The Toyota company has made great vehicles throughout the years. But their vehicles wouldn’t be as good as they are without the engines that power them. There are many well-known Toyota engines out there, and knowing more about them will help you find the best option for you.
