Falcon VS Car

Fastest Animals versus Cars. Who is faster?

We decided to look at the Fastest Animals and compare their top speed with speed of some less or more popular car models. So, here we are!

Peregrine Falcon – Fastest of the fastest animals in the World

PEREGRINE FALCON is the fastest in the World of the whole animal kingdom. You can even see similarities between a Peregrine Falcon and a B-2 Bomber from the side view, of course, plane’s speed is much higher (1010km/h). With a top speed of 389 km/h (242 mph) while diving in the air there is no chance for ducks, pigeons or others to run away from the hell.

Now, let’s have a look at two car models with the same or very similar top speed like fastest animals.

Koenigsegg CCR

The first car with similar top speed like Peregrine Falcon is Koenigsegg CCR. This unique model was made in Sweden. Only 14 models were produced between 2004 and 2006.

Max speed is 388 km/h (241 mph).
Acceleration: 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.2 seconds.

Vector W8

Majority of people never seen this model before. It is one of the rarest models ever made. Old, but in my opinion looks really cool. In between 1989–1993 only 22 Vector W8 models were produced by an American automobile manufacturer – Vector Aeromotive Corporation.

Max speed is 242 mph (389 km/h).
Acceleration: 0–60 mph (0–97 km/h) in 3.9 seconds.

So, PEREGRINE FALCON is faster than KOENIGSEGG CCR and VECTOR W8 is fast as falcon. Sorry Koenigsegg, you have to go.

Golden Eagle

Golden Eagle is a beautiful bird, maybe it is not a very suitable definition. It is a beautiful, strong, a huge bird of prey (raptor) that feeds on smaller animals. Peregrine Falcon is fastest, however, Golden Eagle is the second-fastest in the World and can reach 240 to 320 km/h (150 to 200 mph) when diving after prey.

Golden Eagle is fast, but how about top speed of Mercedes-Benz 300 SL and Porsche 959. Lets have a look below.

Mercedes-Benz 300 SL

Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is a legend which is very much loved by car collectors. Overall 3258 models were produced between 1954 and 1963: as a gull-winged coupe (1954-1957) and roadster (1957-1963). In its time 300 SL was the fastest production car.

Max Speed is 263 km/h (163 mph).
Acceleration: 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 9.6 seconds.

Porsche 959

Porsche is one of those models from my childhood… When I used to play with toys together with my brother, cousins, friends when we were kids, the most popular models were Ferrari F40 and Porsche 959. So this time about Porsche model which reminds me of some past moments in the late 80s and early 90s.

Porsche 959 was manufactured by German automobile manufacturer between 1986 and 1993 and a total of 345 units were produced. Porsche 959 is the World’s fastest street-legal, high performance, all-wheel-drive production car when introduced back in the 80s.

Max Speed is 317 km/h (197 mph)
Acceleration: 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.7 seconds

One of the fastest animals GOLDEN EAGLE beats both of them MERCEDES-BENZ 300 SL and PORSCHE 959.

White-throated Needletail

White-throated Needletail is one of the fastest animals in the World reaching a speed of up to 105 mph (169 km/h). These birds are also known as needle-tailed swift due to the spined end of their tail.

If you got the eight-cylinder version of this little car, you would have an MGB GT V8.

As we can see MGB GT 1974 is fast as WHITE-THROATED NEEDLETAIL.

Eurasian Hobby

Eurasian Hobby or basically hobby is a small falcon with a dark crown and two short black stripes which reminds a moustache. Hobby loves travelling and these falcons migrating between continents such as Africa, Europe and Asia. They are fast like an aerobatic plane and with a maximum speed of 100 mph (160km/h) they can quickly catch some large insects, small bats or birds.

ROCK DOVE (PIGEON) vs BMW i3 and FIAT 500e

Rock Dove or Common Pigeon

Pigeon is a symbol of love. This is my opinion. The word ‘pigeon’ is derived from the Latin word ‘pipio’, meaning ‘young cheeping bird’. The word ‘dove’ is of Norse origin and first appeared in the 14th century as ‘dova’ or ‘douve’. These birds are one of the most common in the World. One of the fastest animals pigeon’s average speed is 77.6 mph but has been recorded flying at 92.5 mph which is almost the same as BMW i3, Fiat 500e or Smart. More about pigeons you can find in the Pigeon Control Resource Centre Website.

BMW i3

BMW i3, also called Mega City Vehicle (MCV) was BMW’s first mass-produced zero-emissions vehicle. BMW i3 journey started in 2011 as a concept car and in 2013 production started. The BMW i3 has won five awards in 2014: World Green Car of the Year, World Car Design of the Year, UK Car of the Year, UK Best Supermini also i3 received an iF Product Design Gold Award. BMW i vehicles are now sold in 74 countries and it is one of the best selling electric vehicles (EV) in the World.

Max speed is 150 km/h (93 mph)
Acceleration: 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds

BMW i3 top speed compared with the pigeon which is one of the fastest animals in the world.

FIAT 500e

Usually, when you hear people talking about Fiat, it sounds like it is the most unreliable car ever made. Fiat is a very popular brand, there are lots of good looking models, however, may be due to unreliability people started making jokes. Lots of different funny acronyms are made such us: Failure In Automotive Technology or Fix It Again Tom. Is it still unreliable? All changed when Fiat 500 came to the sunlight. It became one of the most popular Fiat models ever made. Car Buyer review rating is 3.3/5, however, owners rated this car 3.9/5 and 62% of people would recommend this car to a friend. Not too bad I would say.

Max Speed is 150 km/h (93 mph)
Acceleration: 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.0 seconds

Fiat 500e

Pigeon is in the 7th place of the fastest animals in the world. This time ROCK DOVE (PIGEON) gives the 1st place to both BMW i3 and FIAT 500e.

Black Marlin

The Black Marlin is a long heavy fish with a maximum published length of 4.65 m (15.3 ft) and weight of 750 kg (1,650 lb). Marlin is the fastest fish in the world and due to its aerodynamical shape, it can reach up to 82 mph max speed in a horizontal line.

Smart ForTwo Electric Drive

Smart ForTwo Electric unique little city car for your attention which is slower than Black Marlin. Car Wow experts tested this model and results are not as good as should be with the low rating of 5/10. Smart is not so popular model and the main reason could be its size, 2 seats and price is a bit too high.

Max Speed is 130 km/h (81 mph)
Acceleration: 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 11.5 seconds

What if we grew the Smart fortwo to double size? And get a 3-door, 4 seater, 4×4, Smart SUV?

Lion, the Lion King is like Bond, James Bond. I remember 1994 when the movie The Lion King came out. It was something special in my childhood. Since then, I feel huge respect and love towards these muscular, deep-chested cats. As you can see below, Lion is resting, and they resting 20 hours per day and on average they spend 2 hours walking and 1-hour eating. Top speed is 80 km/h (50mph) but it lasts only for very short bursts and can be highly exhausting.
