Golf carts are useful for many things besides carrying you and your clubs around the fairway. We’ll explain some interesting ways to use a golf cart outside a golf course, from campsite transportation to farming!
Campground Vehicle
If you go to a campground, odds are you’ll see a few campers navigating the campsite in a golf cart. It’s easy to see why—these vehicles are perfect for navigating campgrounds. For one, they’re much smaller and easier to drive than a car or truck. When you need to make a quick trip to the campsite store, down to the swimming hole, or back to your home base, your golf cart is there for you. Plus, they’re quieter than four-wheelers and other utility vehicles, so you won’t disturb wildlife or other campers while driving around.
Community Transportation
We’ve all seen people also use golf carts for inner-community transportation in a retirement village, a resort, or a large campus. Golf carts are excellent transportation options for enclosed but expansive communities. They require little maintenance and are much more affordable than full-sized cars. A golf cart is an excellent mode of transportation if you want to go to the corner store or get around campus quickly.
Hunting
Using golf carts for hunting expeditions is quite popular. Golf carts make great hunting vehicles because they’re agile, low-maintenance, and quiet, so they won’t scare off the wildlife. With a golf cart, hunters can cover much more ground and easily transport large game, like deer.
First, you need to ready your golf cart for off-roading, as the typical golf cart isn’t built to traverse the wilderness! With new tires, a lift kit, and some personal touches, a golf cart can become the ideal vehicle for your next hunt.
Farming/Ranching
Another way to use a golf cart outside a golf course is on your farm or ranch. If you have to tend to a large property, you likely spend a lot of time moving around to fix small issues and care for livestock and crops. Consider a modified golf cart for transportation instead of scooting around in a loud, gas-guzzling UTV. A golf cart for farming or ranching will need a few modifications, but the process is relatively easy and pretty fun!
Clearly, golf carts have many uses besides carrying your bags around the links! If you have a golf cart, there are plenty of opportunities to use it besides golfing—whether you enjoy camping, hunting, or need a work vehicle on your farm or ranch.
